Bill Kalmenson

If you blinked and missed him in “Argo” (which won the Oscar for Best Picture) or fell asleep during the last season of HBO’s “True Detective” you can catch Bill Kalmenson soon on stage pursuing his first love, or second love, or third… standup comedy. “All I really want is a woman who will like me for who I pretend to be,” snaps Kalmenson, a veteran of both nightclubs and the dating wars. “I’ve finally reached that age where I can date younger women and they can be old.”  Still, Bill remains hopeful. “I know some place somewhere is that special someone who will make me miserable for the rest of my life.”

A native of L.A. Kalmenson studied Dramatic Arts at U.C.  Berkeley back in the turbulent seventies. Then he headed for N.Y. where he made his theatrical debut Off Broadway opposite comedy icon, Milton Berle. “Milton gave me the encouragement and confidence to actually give stand-up a shot.” So, after the play closed, which wasn’t long after it opened, he headed for the nightclubs and never looked back.
Upon his arrival on the west coast Bill guest starred in a wide spectrum of episodic TV shows which include “Six Feet Under,” “E.R.”, “24”, “L.A. Law”, “Married with Children”, “thirtysomethng” and “Shameless” to name a few. He also appeared in the feature films, “Lethal Weapon”, “Loverboy” and in his own movie, “The Souler Opposite” which he wrote and directed.

Also appearing will be Kelly Hilbert, Drew Shafer and Jeffry Anderson.
